Creating a New Page

There are two options for creating a new page for your website, either by attaching it to an existing navigation menu, or by isolating it from the navigation menus. First we will look at creating a page attached to a menu.

Creating a New Page Attached to a Menu

To do this, there are three methods: using the File menu, using the New Page icon, or using the Edit Menu toolbar.

Method 1 - The File Menu

Click the File menu and select the New Page option.

The Create New Menu Item dialog box appears. Enter the page name, and select a template. Check the Live box to publish it immediately to the website. From here, the new page appears and a menu link is created.
 

Method 2 - The New Page Icon

Click the New Page icon on the toolbar.

The Create New Menu Item dialog box appears. Enter the page name, and select a template. Check the Live box to publish it immediately to the website. From here, the new page appears and a menu link is created.
 

Method 3 - The Navigation Tool

Right click the navigation menu where the new page link should be. The Edit Menu Toolbar appears with various options. Click the New Page icon to display options to specify exactly where the link will be. Select one of the three options to place the Menu Item for the page.

The Create New Menu Item dialog box appears. Enter the page name, and select a template. Check the Live box to publish it immediately to the website. From here, the new page appears and a menu link is created.

The Create New Menu Item dialog box will appear on the screen.  Enter the page name, and whether or not the page should be "live".  Live indicates the page will be immediately available to the public.

Creating a New Page NOT Attached to a Menu

It is possible to link pages together without using the navigation menu by creating hyperlinks out of the content. To do this, highlight the text or select the image to be linked to the new page. Click the New Page icon on the Toolbar or select New Page from the File menu.

The Create New Menu Item dialog box appears. Enter the page name, and select a template. Check the Live box to publish it immediately to the website. From here, the new page appears and a hyperlink is created from the selected text.
