Shared Containers let you leverage the power of TAGGON to maintain content across multiple pages in your website. By building shared containers you can make changes to the Shared Container and have all your pages update simultaneously with then new changes. An example would be adding a search box to your website. Make the search box once as a shared container, include that shared container on all pages and you can now change all the search boxes all at once at any time in the future.
Create a new Shared Container To create a new Shared Container place the cursor where you would like the Shared Container to appear within your document. From the Insert Menu select Shared Container. A new dialogue box labelled Insert Container will appear on the screen. This dialogue box allows you to create, select, and delete your shared containers from the system. To create a new containers insert an appropriate name for the Shared Container in the input box labelled "Container Name". Click on the Insert New Container button to create the new container. A new Shared Container will appear on the screen with the text "Default container content". Modify this container as you see fit. When your changes are complete Publish the document to TAGGON and the content within the Shared Container will be updated within the system.
Modify a Shared Container
TAGGON's approach to Shared Containers is much more flexible than most Content Management Systems on the market today. Modifying a Shared Container within TAGGON can be done directly within the page you are working on. No need to open new dialogue windows and edit the content outside of what you're working on. Simply edit the container directly in the page and Publish that page. TAGGON will detect the Shared Container and update its content site wide.
Insert an Existing Shared Container Once you have created your Shared Container, inserting it within a new page follows the same procedure as creating a Shared Object. Under the Insert Menu select Shared Container, the Insert Container dialogue box will appear on the screen, select the appropriate container from the list on the left hand side on the dialogue box and click Insert Existing Container button. The Shared Container will be added to your page at the location you have placed the cursor. For your convenience when selecting the Shared Container in the dialogue box a preview of its content will be displayed in the section to its right. This can help when the naming of the Shared Container is ambiguous.
Delete Shared Containers To delete the Shared Container, mark the entire area of the Shared Container and delete with the BackSpace or Delete key on your keyboard. Publish the page to send your changes to the live site.
