Use the EMail Broadcast feature to send Newsletters
This Feature enables you to create professional HTML email campaigns in minutes, whether you want to send email newsletters to your clients, promote products and services or invite your members to upcoming events.

Very important: Be aware that using this feature requires you to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act if the email Broadcast is not a "transactional or relationship message". Refer to the US Federal Trade Commission for more information.

• You must not use false or misleading header information
• You are not allowed to use deceptive subject lines
• Your email must contain an opt-out method
• Commercial emails must be identified as advertisements and must include the senders valid physical postal address

Create a new EMail Broadcast

To create a new EMail Broadcast you can build a regular page in TAGGON, based on an email broadcast template. Make sure that you publish the page. The Email Broadcast will look just like your TAGGON page in the Email body of the receipients. Take into consideration that many email clients such as Microsoft's Outlook are blocking the display of images in email messages.

Go to the Tool Menu in the top menu bar and select EMail Broadcast.  A new window will appear on your screen where you can enter subject, sender, your email address, and recipients, which you can either choose from existing TAGGON user groups or transfer from Microsoft Outlook, Excel or other applications.  Please note that if you choose to import lists of recipients, you need to apply the following syntax:

Email, First Name, Last Name

Broadcast content display

The displayed content is that of the TAGGON page you chose to send.  The check box below gives you the option of sending your broadcast in plain text instead of HTML. This feature is helpful if you already know that certain users are unable to view emails in HTML.

Personalize your Broadcast

If you wish to personalize your EMail Broadcast, all you need to do is insert

%%First Name%% and %%Last Name%% in the content of the message wherever you want the name to appear (i.e. start the Broadcast with "Dear %%First Name%% %%Last Name%%). Taggon will automatically extract the information from your recipients list and insert it in that position.

Attachment

You can upload and attach one file per broadcast. Attach a file by clicking on the Browse button. Select your file and click on Insert. The attachment will then automatically be sent out with all emails in this EMail Broadcast.

Send Broadcast

There are two buttons at the bottom of the window.  By clicking Send test email you can send the broadcast to yourself to see what it looks like.  By clicking Broadcast it will be sent to all recipients.

Status report

After seding out the EMail Broadcast you will get a status report by email.
